One of the most neglected and underestimated aspect of Leadership is Self-awareness

It is like a house without a proper basement. Such a house is unstable, shacky and will sooner or later fall apart. Even experienced leaders skipped this first lesson of leadership, which often results in working hard, pushing, micromanaging, hiring “like me” people, replacing people who challenge and criticize them. The ego gradually inflates and makes a big noise to hide the low self-confidence.

Oftentimes their work feels like a battlefield which might even end in a burn out over time.

For some leaders it is simply too difficult to look thoroughly on their demons, fears, limitations and are afraid to build their leadership on humility, authenticity, and strengths.

Deep self-awareness is the key and a starting point to become a confident “Self-leader” who creates trust, connection and is fascinated by differences in others. Become a servant who listens and learns more than speaks and teaches, is ambitious for the greater good, is an expert in creating an inspiring vision, reading people´s needs, talents and giving them space and empowerment. The team would go through the wall for such a Leader as the Leader himself would do so for his team.
